Our Latest News
We are very proud to announce that Ballygarvan NS has achieved a Science Foundation Ireland Discover Science and Maths Award for 2016/2017.
The judging panel remarked that there was a "fantastic log of evidence which clearly show(ed) the huge range of Science, Technology Engineering and Maths work going on in the school."
We are very much looking forward to receiving and displaying our Plaque of STEM Excellence in June!
We're very proud of our Green Schools Initiative and our growing school garden here at Ballygarvan National School.

Green Schools
This year we entered the Imaginosity story writing competition, "What's the Story?", with our Senior Infant class. They had great fun brainstorming, drafting, redrafting, illustrating and making a video out of their story, Sam Sandwich Saves the Day.
We are delighted to announce that all the hard work paid off and that they placed 1st in Ireland in what is a very tough competition. They have won €240 worth of books for the school along with membership to ReCreate. In addition they’ll be off to the Imaginosity museum in Dublin for a day trip on June 13th to explore all the wonderful exhibits and receive their well deserved goodie bags.
